Rob Ryan One of a Kind Silkscreen Prints
I LOVE these Rob Ryan silkscreen prints (one of Katrin’s many hidden gems in the art world)… all made by hand from original ink drawings by a little team of artists all the way across the pond in London… Rob is known for his paper cutout pieces, laser cutting techniques and screen prints. How beautifully divine and precise!
What a beautiful little shopfront… love the blast of turquoise
Now this, I flat out love. Who knew that Rob Ryan collaborated with uber unique jewelery designer Tatty Divine?!? For those who aren’t in the know, Katrin’s boutique has been known to carry their individual and rare necklaces… T-Rex dinosaurs, swinging acrobats… with Tatty anything can inspire a wearable piece of art!
Alongside his extensive prints, Rob has done some amazing commissioned work – my personal favorite being the cover of British Elle Magazine for London fashion week! You see, lifestyle, art, fashion… it’s all relative and interconnected…. each one influencing the next.
Visit his shop and take a look around!
If you haven’t already, join the KL team on Facebook and become a fan! Tweet with us and make sure you RSVP for next week’s showing at the 18th Edition of Montreal Fashion Week (Wednesday the 3rd of March 2010 at 6pm)! Tomorrow the KL team will be celebrating the beautiful store manager Erin’s birthday! Hip hip – Heray! Pictures to come (I promise)!
Have a beautiful weekend – see you back on Monday!

For those of you who are regulars at the KL Boutique, you can look forward to welcoming back the beautifully intricate IVKO sweaters! If you have not experienced these sweaters face to face you are truly missing out. Detailed knitwear in exotic colors bring a colorful dash of culture and ethnic abstracts to the table… making gorgeous statement pieces to add to your wardrobe. Based out of Serbia, I love the feel of far away lands and folklore this brand consistently gives off!
Did I mention that the Katrin Leblond Boutique will be the only store in Canada to carry this exclusive line? See you soon in the store!

Manolo Blahnik is a creative genius, but really I didn’t need to tell you that… here is a collection of my favorite sketches, photographs and collages of his awe inspiring flower footwear (oh so Katrin Leblond style)!
The leaf appliques on the laces of these stilettos would go PERFECTLY with the Katrin Leblond vine skirts and tops! Remember the absolutely fabulous reversible KL hoodies with the vine work over the front pockets – to DIE for!
This picture just screams Frida Kahlo, one of Kat’s many muses. Isn’t there just something so beautiful about confident, talented and independently fierce females?
Rosettes!!! Each KL rosette is made by hand either in the studio or the boutique. The store manager Erin is especially talented at making them… for those of you who aren’t familiar with KL’s signature Rosettes, they are great accessories you can play around with and put in your hair, wear as a necklace or bracelet… all made out of the smaller pieces of fabric that can’t be transformed into a full garment! I urge you to experience them for yourself! It’s all about using what you have and avoiding waste in a beautiful way
There is something so amazingly theatrical about this collage by Mr. Blahnik… did you know Katrin collaborates annually with Circus Smirkus and creates the full collection of costumes for the performers? Kat has a long history of dressing entertainers of every genre… musicians, dancers, acrobats… the list goes on and on… not to mention a previous very fabulous collaboration with Cirque du Soleil!
Erin is the earth goddess of the KL team… the above picture is for her mother earth beauty… she looks fabulous in browns and blues (and of course combinations of the two). I’ll bet you upon visiting the KL boutique chances are you’ll find her in those colors (if you do, please let me know my assumption was right!)
Flowers are amazing to begin with, but paired and designed in correlation to shoes… well my dears… I’m not sure it gets any better than that. Thank you Mr. Blahnik for lending your amazing talent for all the world to see!

I came across these beautiful illustrations of divine feminine beings amidst the forest and looking rather goddess like… the same feeling that embodies Kat’s clothing… magical! I really don’t think there is any need to elaborate on the beauty and precision… the love and fantasy… I will let the pictures speak for themselves and offer their own inspiration!
Hope everyone is having a beautiful Tuesday filled to the brim with beauty and love

I don’t know about you, but I am getting rather antsy and super excited for next weeks fashion week. There is a great lineup of designers whose collections I am DYING to see and experience for myself. At the top of my list is of course the Fall collection from Katrin Leblond! Inspired by goddesses, vixens and witches I can’t help but think of it as a sexually charged magical dream state. I haven’t seen any of the collection yet (I will see it when you do!) but a little birdie DID tell me of a possible Cruise insert in the making… I won’t elaborate and blow any covers, but if you are excited to see some summer fashion you will not be disappointed. I would LOVE to see more of the gemtones Kat is already using and more of the luxurious velvets and heavier fabrics from the current collection… *keeping fingers crossed*
In case you were one of the unfortunate souls who missed the last Katrin Leblond fashion show from Montreal Fashion Week, I have enclosed three videos covering the ENTIRE collection… oh yes you lucky things! Note the live HUGE snake on former Manager Nadine’s neck!!! There is always a surprise waiting when you are part of a KL event… I wonder what we will be “wowed” with this year… any guesses?
We would LOVE to have you at the show, and really it’s as easy as 1 2 3… just RSVP asap to
katrin@katrinleblond.com
The show will take place on Wednesday the 3rd of March at 6pm (you can run from work!) at Marche Bonsecours in the Old Port…
350 Rue Saint-Paul Est, Vieux Port
Hope to see you there – not an event you will want to miss!
On February 3rd for a very special 5 a 7, women and girls of all ages flocked to the Katrin Leblond boutique on St. Laurent for a giant game of dress up! The store was brimming with white wine, strawberries, chocolate and feminine flirtatious energy! Behold a few of the beautiful shots taken by Montreal Fashion Photographer Barrie Macleod…
Ah! Such a breathe of fresh air from the winter blahs when you see all this creativity, color and imagination in each of these shots!
A big warm welcome to the brand new Katrin Leblond blog! Hope you find as much inspiration as I do creating the posts… lets fall down the KL rabbit hole of embellishment ensemble!
